FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. How many cameras do I get?
All of our ceremonies are inclusive of two-camera ceremony coverage. When asking this question, also be sure to find out if both of the cameras are manned, or is just one manned and one set up on a tripod to capture the “back shot”. A true movie-like wedding video requires zooming in and out and movement right and left at critical moments to add depth and that overall movie-like feel to your video. Emotions are high at wedding ceremonies, as you well know—and there’s no take two on those emotions. There must be two well-trained bodies there to capture one of your life’s most monumental events.

2. Do you offer digital videography?
We at Music Box Productions use only three-chip, broadcast-quality digital cameras. There are many “professional” videographers using consumer grade equipment and passing it off as broadcast digital. Yes, the one chip video cameras you can buy at Circuit City or Best Buy are digital, and are phenomenal for vacations and things of that sort. The simple fact is: three chip digital cameras are more of an investment into clarity. The difference between one chip and three chip digital cameras is as apparent as the difference between VHS tapes and DVDs.

3. How is my movie delivered?
Your final project is delivered on three Hollywood-style DVD’s. You will find our menus to be a breath taking beginning that is easy to navigate. Just like any DVD that you would rent or buy, our DVDs have multiple chapter selections that make it very simple to watch your favorite parts of your video over and over again. Our extensive “Cover-Me” packages are delivered in three 2-disc sets. The outer artwork is as beautiful as the video itself. All combined, these features come together to make a phenomenal family heirloom that will virtually last forever.

4. How many years of experience do your shooters have?
All of our shooters have from three to ten years of professional and/or event video experience. Plus, we have monthly class and footage review meetings. Just like professional athletes must review game film to improve their performance, our videographers (and our DJs) are required to do the same. Our videographers watch movies and television differently than most people as well. They look for the new angles and subtle little tricks that today’s top cinematographers are practicing to make their own shooting style as creative as possible. So rest assured…in addition to the experience they already possess, they eat, breathe, and sleep video.

5. What kind of coverage do I need?
This is of course a personal preference. Now, we are aware that people don’t get married for a living, and the majority of clients that come through here aren’t exactly sure what to expect, so our Wedding Professionals are here to assist in the proper package selection. We have several packages to serve your video needs. We offer two-camera coverage of your ceremony in all of our packages, and your choice of one or two camera coverage of your reception. How many cameras you have at your reception is also a personal preference, and once again, our Wedding Professionals will assist you in the decision-making process if need be. Our coverage of your event is totally unobtrusive. The inside and outside of your church and reception venue; the smallest detail of the day i.e.: your centerpieces, perfectly set tables, pew bows and nearly every face that comes to your event is documented on camera—without the subjects being bothered! Reception coverage is more than just the dance floor—our videographers are always looking for that exciting footage that will make your video the best one in your collection. 6. What is Music Box’s style?
We are 90% cinematic and 10% documentary. Cinematic style videography is best compared to photojournalistic style photography. You want to see natural reactions and emotions from your guests on your wedding video, and the only way this can be achieved is by practicing cinematic style videography. With Music Box, your guests will be able to express themselves naturally simply because they won’t notice the videographers at all. Our musical montages opening and closing your movie add an unbelievable emotional twist. While shopping for video, ask to see not only the demo but also some “real” work. Plus, ask if what you’re seeing is included in the package price. Many videography companies will entice you with a very low price tag to shoot your wedding, and then charge you an exorbitant price to edit your video and include what they call “special effects” editing. You’ll notice that at Music Box, black and white transitions, color passes and wide screen cropping and any and all other effects you see in the samples on our website and in our studio are added at no additional charge.

While visiting our studio, we’ll show you finished product until you’re blue in the face! We are proud to show you examples of our current work. We also have examples to view online.

7. Do you have back-up gear and personnel available?
Yes, in addition to the very reliable Canon XL1S cameras, we send an additional Panasonic DVX100 to every event to serve as back up. These two cameras are atop of the industry’s “best of” list. We also carry additional microphones and cords with emergency repair kits to every event. Videographers are also assigned to stand-by duty on game day in case of emergency.

8. If my video includes photos, do I get those photos back? And when?
Believe it or not, this is actually the most frequently asked question. Upon planning, (if you’ve chosen a package that includes photos) you will give us those photos for scanning into our computer. Once that is completed, the photos are returned to you. Most of our clients trust that we will take very good care of their photos, and typically pick them up when picking up their finished video product. But we are aware that many photos themselves are considered heirlooms, in which case they may be picked up immediately following the scanning process.

9. What are your studio hours?
We are a full-time, full service digital videography company taking care of your every need. We are here for you from 10am until 9pm Monday through Thursday and 10am until 4pm on Friday. Our hours are flexible to service all of our clients’ needs. Feel free to call us if you have any questions at 586-790-1519 or email us at sales@mbproductionsinc.com.
